Construction and fitting for Sydney Australia’s newest international airport, the Western Sydney Airport (WSI, or, officially named, the Nancy-Bird Walton), located in Luddenham, is complete, and the airport is looking for volunteers to act like passengers to move through the terminal just like a real passenger would, to test out their brand new systems and procedures twice a week in several trials to run from August to October 2026. Participants will get the opportunity to see what the airport is like, from check-in to the departures but alas, without actually stepping on board a plane.
The airport will run these trials on Tuesdays and Thursdays in August, September, and October 2026. Participants will be required to arrive by 8:30am, and each trial run goes for around 7-8 hours. You can visit as a group, but each person needs a separate registration.
Food and drink will be provided, and there will be free parking for participants. When the airport opens to the public for real flights later in the year, there will be (hopefully) metro services. In the meantime, public transport options are buses from Penrith train station, the trip taking an hour to the airport.
Singapore Airlines will be one of the first airlines using the Western Sydney International airport when it opens later in 2026.

I know these messages are annoying, but please don’t skip this. If you’ve read this far, please make a donation. I am not just another blogger soliciting donations.
About this site:
Despite my disabilities and chronic health diseases, I love to travel. Most of the travel I have done and places I have visited, I went as a solo traveller. I started this as a blog in 2015, where I posted reviews and practical information about places I have been to. Now, this is a standalone site that contains practical and useful information that I gathered from first hand, personal experience and independent travel, and I pass on this information so you know what you’re doing and what to expect, instead of blindly following a tour group or an influencer’s cherry-picked and staged photos. All the food and destination photos on this website are taken by me. I maintain this site and and my other sites alone and ensure content is correct at the time of writing, and practically useful for potential travellers.
Why I am asking for donations:
People rush to help when someone suffers a sudden visible accident, because they want to be part of the rush of assistance. I didn’t suffer a sudden and visible accident like a shark victim, but I did suffer a permanent life-altering crisis, and I am still suffering.
My crisis happened suddenly, decades ago, when my life and future was robbed from me when I underwent intense cancer treatment for a late stage cancer as a three year old. I had no say in any of this.
How your donation can help:
The passage of time doesn’t make it better, in fact, it makes it worse. As a result of my cancer treatment, I now live with multiple permanent and degenerative disabilities and chronic medical conditions and have been long term unemployed, and live in an unsupportive household. To make matters worse, out of desperation to get out of the hole I am in, I fell victim to a scam, losing my entire life savings and leaving me in complete ruin and further unable to change my situation. I am stuck in a vicious cycle because I cannot seek a better environment to move to without money, and I can’t earn money with all my health problems, and I can’t seek treatment interstate or overseas without money.
I make great efforts to create genuine, accurate and helpful content. I write all my articles and create all the content personally, without AI. I started this website in 2015, back then it was a blog where I wrote about my trips, whether they were local outings or international trips when I could. My disabilities have made it dramatically more difficult to get around even within my own house, but I am using my wealth of practical travel knowledge to create an informative site, so that travellers are armed with useful information about a destination before they go.
It takes me a long time to write these articles and to check they are factually correct, and it’s getting harder to get the motivation to even get out of bed as authorities refuse to do anything, or are unable to do anything.
If you connect with my story and want to support me personally:
Please donate to my personal fundraiser if you can, or share my fundraiser if you cannot. I wouldn’t be asking if I had other options, and if everyone pitched in, my goal can be achieved. You can read about me on my About page. Thank you.
