The new Western Sydney International Airport had been under construction since 2018, and today, the first jet plane landed in a test operation on the first of two days.
This new airport will be the second international airport for Sydney, Australia, and to be named Nancy-Bird Walton. The existing Sydney airport is called Kingsford Smith. The Australian government is hoping that airlines will start using the new airport, however, its popularity is yet to be seen, since a direct train line is yet to be built, making it a long trip from the new airport to the CBD for travellers.
The airport is due to open in 2026. The provisional IATA code for the new Western Sydney International Airport is WSI.

I know these messages are annoying, but please don’t skip this.
If you’ve read this far, please make a donation. I am not just another blogger soliciting donations.
Why I am asking:
People rush to help when someone suffers a sudden visible accident, because they want to be part of the rush of assistance. I didn’t suffer a sudden and visible accident like a shark victim, but I did suffer a permanent life-altering crisis, and I am still suffering.
My crisis happened suddenly, decades ago, when my life and future was robbed from me when I underwent intense cancer treatment for a late stage cancer as a three year old. I had no say in any of this.
The passage of time doesn’t make it better, in fact, it makes it worse. As a result of my cancer treatment, I now live with multiple permanent and degenerative disabilities and chronic medical conditions and have been long term unemployed, and live in an unsupportive household. To make matters worse, I was the victim of a scam, leaving me in complete ruin and unable to change my situation. I am stuck in a vicious cycle because I cannot seek a better environment to move to without money, and I can’t earn money with all my health problems, and I can’t seek treatment interstate or overseas without money. I make great efforts to create genuine, accurate and helpful content. I write all my articles personally, and take most of the photos on this website myself.
I started this website in 2015, back then it was a blog where I wrote about my trips, whether they were local outings or international trips when I could. My disabilities have made it dramatically more difficult to get around, but I have a wealth of practical travel knowledge that I want to share, so I am turning this site into an information site, so that travellers are armed with useful information about a destination before they go.
It takes me a long time to write these articles and to check they are factually correct, and it’s getting harder to get the motivation to even get out of bed.
Please donate to my personal fundraiser if you can, or share my fundraiser if you cannot. I wouldn’t be asking if I had other options, and if everyone pitched in, my goal can be achieved. You can read about me on my About page. Thank you.
